Cameroon defender Flavien Boyomo has backed Ademola Lookman to succeed Victor Osimhen as Africa’s best player.
Osimhen won the CAF Men’s Player of the Year award in 2023, but was not nominated this year.
Lookman will battle Simon Adingra, Serhou Guirassy, Achraf Hakimi and Ronwen Williams for the prestigious award.
The 27-year-old enjoyed a remarkable outing for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, scoring three goals and providing one assist in seven appearances.
The winger also scored a historic hat-trick for Atalanta in the final of the UEFA Europa League.
Boyomo believes he has done enough to win the CAF Men’s Player of the Year.
