2023: South-east may produce president if Buhari is re-elected —APC Chieftain

A Board of Trustee member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, Ralph Okeke has charged people of the South-east geopolitical zone to massively return President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 16 poll.

Okeke, in an interview with newsmen in Onitsha, claimed that Buhari’s unprecedented performance in his three and half years reign were so visible that even his numerous critics were already changing their minds for him.

According to the two term member of the House of Representatives under the PDP, the people of South-east geopolitical zone would be the most favoured region to produce the next President in 2023 courtesy of the “APC power sharing arrangement and Mr. President’s integrity.”

Okeke, currently the DG, Directorate of Contact & Mobilization Committee of Presidential Campaign Council in Anambra, added that “The biggest need and agitation of ndigbo must be the Presidency because apart from the fact that South East is the only region that have not occupied the Presidency in Nigeria, the opportunity will enable the Igbo benefit from those things we complain about.”

He said, “With what is happening on the Onitsha-Enugu-Port Harcourt express way, Nnewi-Okigwe highway coupled with tremendous pace of work on the 2nd Niger bridge, even the most skeptical critic will agree that if PDP had done half of what is currently going on in 16 years, the situation would have been different today.”

On comments credited to Vice President Osinbajo and Bola Tinubu on presidency returning to South-West after Buhari second term, Okeke said they were mere political wishes, because according to him,

“Every Nigerian, including President Buhari knows that it is the turn of the Igbo to produce the next President of Nigeria.”
