
Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, aspirants who contested for tickets of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for seats in the House of Representatives but lost, pledged to mobilise 20m votes for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as presidential candidate of the party.
In a statement by its national chairman, Mohammed Danjuma, Wednesday said the group with strength of over 2,000 members across the country will do all within their reach across the 360 federal constituencies to garner 20m votes for Alhaji Atiku.
Primary elections should be considered as past tense by both winners and losers by seeing the forthcoming general elections , particularly the presidential as the major focus of all.
“Making PDP return to power at the centre in 2023 is of more importance to this forum. The reason why we are together across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory is to get it done,” the forum declared.
The statement reads in part: “The 2023 PDP Reps Aspirants’ Forum For Atiku is a forum of like-minded aspirants cutting across 36 states of the federation and FCT that actively participated in just concluded PDP primary election for the position of House of Representatives.
“We over 2,000 members have decided to form a formidable team as enshrined in the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to queue behind our party and its presidential candidate.”
