2019: We’ll sweep South-east, Ganduje tells APC supporters

Following the controversy generated by the emergence of the Reformed All Progressives Congress (rAPC), Kano state Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has assured party loyalists and Nigerians that the ruling APC will sweep the South east during the 2019 general elections.
He made the assertion during a special briefing at the council chamber prior to the council meeting with the state executive council held at the Government House, Kano while reviewing the unprecedented gathering during the rally for the party loyalists held in Owerri, the Imo state recently.
The programme was principally organised by the Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha and other stakeholders tagged “Support Rally for Buhari” to mobilise support for Buhari with Ganduje among the party juggernauts invited by Okorocha to grace the occasion.
“Our dear President Muhammadu Buhari has unprecedented support from the South east.
Though we have only one state now controlled by our party in the region, that is Imo state, come 2019 general election, APC will give surprises by sweeping all the states there,” he enthused.
“We are happy that the chances of the APC in South east are brighter.
From all look of things, we are going to capture the remaining states of the South east,” he emphasised.
According to the governor, the rally saw many strong political pillars of the region, “which also served as a pointer to how the party is waxing stronger across many parts of the country.”
