The Cerebra Palsy football association of Nigeria has concluded plans to hold a sensitisation walk this Sunday October 6, 2019 to commemorate the special day for people suffering from the ailment.
Speaking with the media, the Secretary- General of CPFA, Deborah Okediadi, disclosed that the walk is to further sensitize members of the public that people with this mental and physical challenges can live a healthy life by actively participating in sporting activities.
“The significance of every 6th October, is to continue the awareness movement that we should continue to love people with cerebral palsy. And to also notify the world that with their involvement in sport activities, they will surely improve mentally and physically,” the hardworking scribe, remarked.
She went further to reveal the immediate plans of the body towards further creating awareness and also helping to further integrate those with the sickness into the larger society.
“Our immediate plans for Cerebral Palsy Football Association of Nigeria, include holding a national tournament later this year in December.
“That would help us organise the cerebral paIsy football league, as well as, form a national team that would go ahead to represent Nigeria in international games, beginning with a friendly match against Ghana,” she said.
