2019: Benue North East deserves better representation- Aspirant

A senatorial aspirant to Benue North East under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Michael Terwase Tsumbu, has decried the lack of effective representation at the Senate, saying the trend should be reversed through the 2019 general elections.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Tsumbu who hails from Kwande also known as Zone A, said the dearth of committed representation at the National Assembly from the zone has brought hardship and hindered development to the people of the area.

Kwande, he said, is the rightful local government in the zone to produce the next Senator in order to correct the self-service and inefficiency of those representing the senatorial district.

He explained that he made wide consultations before vying for the seat which is being occupied by Senator Barnabas Gemade, adding that he has received the blessings of his kindred for contributing moderately to the wellbeing of the community in the past, including the construction of a block of four classrooms at Jato Aka village in Turan Kwande local government area among others.

Tsumbu stated that he would use the opportunity, if elected, to tackle security threat, cooperate with relevant stakeholders to attract development, construct access roads to link with the Republic of Cameroun in order to open up economic activities as well as establish a trust account to pool resources together to tackle needs as they occur rather than waiting for the needs to arise before seeking for means to solve them.

The aspirant also said he would operate an open door policy where  constructive suggestions would be received and worked upon for the progress of the people. “I will use my experience to tackle issues and proffer good solutions to them where everybody will be involved,” Tsumbu stated.
