The All Progressives Congress (APC), Southwest Forum Federal Capital Territory FCT chapter has endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari for second term in office.
The forum said the endorsement was necessitated by the need to allow Buhari the chance to deliver the change he promised.
Chairman of the APC Southwest Forum, Pastor Olusegun Erinle, disclosed the stakeholders’ end of the year recognition programme, held at the APC office along Game Village, Durumi, Abuja.
Erinle said President Buhari has been doing well and requires time, support and understanding from Nigerians to take the country to greater heights in the committee of Nations.
“Recall when the PDP started in 1998, former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s first two three years, things were very hard because he was just taking over from the military and there was nothing in the covers of the nation. But towards the end of his first tenure things began to take shape and the second tenure former President Olusegun Obasanjo took this nation to a high level of recognition”.
“Since our president took over, our economy has taken a new shape and by the time the APC comes in for the second term things will become better. We are going to mobilize people from the grassroots across the South western states in support of the second tenure of President Buhari”.
Also, the FCT chairman of APC, Hon. Abdulmalik Usman, who was represented by the Publicity Secretary, Engr. Adeje Usman, said the support of South westerners is very important in Nigeria politics, as the region played a major role in the emergence of the APC and President Buhari.
The Oba Yoruba of FCT, Abuja, HRH, Olusegun Salawu, said contrary to insinuation in some quarters, the Yorubas have not been marginalized in this present administration as many of them have been appointed into important positions in our country.
