2019: Al-Makura betraying APC, Adamu alleges

Former Nasarawa state governor and serving senator, Abdullahi Adamu has accused Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of alleged plot to dethrone him as well as impose a governorship candidate on the state against the decision of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Senator Adamu made the allegations at the weekend while addressing party stakeholders in Keffi, stating that Al-Makura is attempting to impose unpopular candidates not acceptable by the people, which would lead to the destruction of the party and its structures in the state.
Blueprint gathered that the ruling APC in the state will face serious hiccups after primaries, following Al-Makura’s decision to impose an aspirant, Engr.
Abdullahi Alhaji Sule, slotted to succeed him as governor.
It was also gathered that governor Almakura has advicsed his serving Commissioner for Education, Aliyu Ahmed Tijjani, from the same zone with Senator Abdullahi Adamu to pick Senate forms and run against the incumbent senator in the forthcoming party primaries.
Senator Adamu who expressedconcern over what he described as “Al-Makura’s game plan and nonchalant attitude”, said the governor’s actions towards the party were deliberate strategy to ensure that the opposition takes over the state the 2019 general elections.
“I Abdullahi Adamu, the son of Aisha, have never betrayed Almakura.
I have never betrayed APC, but Al-Makura has betrayed me.
He has betrayed the party and anybody who claims he loves APC at heart should not do something to jeopardise the party.
“Al-Makura is still alife and I warned him even before now not to destroy what he has built and also not to allow his cabals to mislead him.
If he does so he will end up regretting it,” Adamu said.
The senator revealed that the highest thing Al-Makura could do to him was to ensure that he does not go back to the Senate in 2019.
“No cause for alarm, I have been a governor for eight years; now a serving senator for seven years, hoping to complete my tenure successfully.
Some people do not even know whether they could reach up to my peak,” Adamu stated.
