A s the presidential ambition of Jigawa state Governor, Alhaji
Sule Lamido, continues to wax stronger, the mover of the journey,
Alhaji Aminu Nuhun Jahun, has disclosed that a director-general for the campaign organisation would soon be appointed.
Jahun, who reiterated the determination of the governor to run for president on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , said whenever President Goodluck Jonathan picked nomination forms, Lamido would be second to pick his.
He stated this in a telephone interview with Blueprint at the weekend.
He said: “I think picking nomination forms is not an offence; we did not violate the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and that of the PDP, because during the 2011 election Jigawa played a greater role in making Goodluck to be president, because we gave him 100 per cent our votes right from primary to secondary elections like Bayelsa. So, it is now time for the PDP to pay us back.”
Jahun debunked the rumour making the rounds that there was a rift between Sule Lamido and Jonathan, saying that it was democracy at work, pointing out that there was never a day when Lamido disobeyed any order or directive from the Presidency since 1999.
He added that after the mobilisation committee had gone round the South-south zone beginning with Rivers state, it would move to South-east, then South-west from whence the campaign organisation office would be opened in Lagos.
