20 MAPOLY students arrested for alleged arson

In the wake of fresh protest by the students of (MAPOLY) over their inability to sit for their second semester examinations, police have reportedly arrested 20 of the students for burning public properties.
The protesting students, according to reports, poured to the streets of Abeokuta on Monday, disrupting vehicular movement in Pansheke area of the state capital.
The protest which the students tagged, “Black Week” reportedly turned violent when the students made a bonfire on roads and allegedly attempted to burn public properties.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun state, Abimbola Oyeyemi said that the students touched some government properties during their protests. Reports said a police officer was injured during the protest while one of the students fainted on the first day of the protest.
Meanwhile, the arrested students have been charged to court but the court has dismissed the murder charge slammed against them, saying the suit against the suspects was not properly instituted.
