2 kids, 4 others perish in Lagos – Ibadan auto crash

Two children and four adults have been confirmed dead while 24 others were seriously injured in an accident around construction zone at Isara – Ogere axis of the Lagos – Ibadan expressway in Ogun state.

The Ogun state sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Clement Oladele, who confirmed the incident to journalists in Abeokuta Friday, said the accident involved a white Toyota bus and a white Mazda bus.

According to him, the accident occurred when the Mazda bus marked, FST 820 XD travelling from Lagos left its lane while overtaking and collided with the Toyota bus with registration number, ABC 932 XJ, coming from Abuja.

He said, “A total of  30 people were involved in the accident which comprises of 19 male adults, nine female adult, one male child and one female child. 24 people comprising 16 male adults, six female adults, one male child and one female child.”

Oladele further said the FRSC team rescued 11 injured victims to Victory Hospital ,Ogere, while six other victims were taken to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu.

He said the other seven injured victims were taken to Idera Hospital, Sagamu.

The sector commander stated that the corpses of the six passengers had been taken to the OOUTH mortuary, Sagamu, and FOS Morgue, Ipara.

He urged members of the public to contact the FRSC commands in either  Ogere or Ogunmakin for details of the crash.
