2 gunmen, 7 others killed in Southern Kaduna

Seven persons, including two suspected gunmen that initially killed two police officers and three women were killed on Tuesday night in Southern Kaduna.
The incident occurred in Fadan Karshi in Sanga local government area of Kaduna state that shares borders with both Nasarawa and Plateau states, respectively.

Chairman of Sanga local government area, Hon. Emmanuel Adamu, confirmed the development to our reporter.
He said: “We are very sad with what occurred in our local government on Tuesday night. Unknown gunmen stormed police station and killed two policemen, a sergeant and one other officer. They also killed three women and the forth one survived but doctors are still battling to save her life and others who were injured.

“Two of the attackers were also killed in the course of gun duel with the security, and their corpses, that of the police and the women were all retrieved and in mortuary. It is unfortunate and we are very sad, but government will not resting but doing its best.”
On the situation in the Council, Adamu said: “There is no cause for alarm, armed security are here with us, the Police Commissioner and the military were here this morning and security has been beef up. All that we want is cooperation with government and security agencies.”

Another resident told Blueprint in confidence that: “They are herdsmen and we could not identify them; they came from somewhere. They first stormed the police station, and the women and men were running to safety when they opened fire on them. Rev Dr Joel Galadima, on hearing noise, came out, and they also shot him, but he survived it.”
