160 athletes vie for honours at Korean teakwando championship

Three African countries including Cameroon, Niger Republic and Chad and 29 other states, clubs, school, Military, Para-Military and Individual participants are currently sweating it out at the 2017 Korean Ambassador’s Taekwondo championship.

The event which would signaled the first-ever grand competitive outing by the Elizabeth Binga-led Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF) is taking place inside package B of Abuja National stadium.
In all about 115 male and 45 Female Taekwondo fighters will be gunning for honours in 58kg, -68kg, -80kg, and +80kg, -49kg, -57kg, -67kg and +67kg.

Disclosing this in Abuja on Wednesday, Technical Director, Engr. Chika Chukwumerije hinted that besides medals and certificates to be won, winners would be given top quality taekwondo equipment sponsored by the Korean cultural centre.
Back to back defending champions, NSCDC, African champion, Uzoamaka Otuadinma and Commonwealth gold medallist, Josephine Esuku as well as other stars are among those on parade during the two-day event.
