15 AUN students travel to US for global peace project 

15 students of the American University of Nigeria (AUN) Yola, selected from various faculties under the name “Team Ubantu for peace” are set  to travel to United States of America( US) to participate in global peace project.

The project is aimed  at enhancing peaceful co- existence among various communities. 

Blueprint reports that this is on the invitation  of  manera centre for peaceful co- existence  in continuation of its search for global peace among human communities as the group focus on farmers/ herders clashes, water and climate change as their thematic areas.

Shedding more lights on the project in an interview with journalists in yola weekend, after the formal lunching and unveiling of the group, the faculty  advisor of the group, Dr.Peter GenGer, said that while in US the group are expected to make presentations on how they intent to go about the project which if satisfy and approved they will be supported with funds to come back and implement the project back home.

He further  noted that the project is aimed  at enhancing peaceful co- existence among various communities  and have no specific duration but a continued programmes which would be sustained  that is why they are looking for working partner to keep the project afloat and ensure its sustenance. 

According to him, they have reach various communities, make needs assessment of what the community need ,analysed these needs and choosed some of these needs for actions  because they cannot not tackle all the problems at the same time.

GenGer further added that, the project will also includes provisions of boreholes and water supply in communities,enlightenment and tree planting campaign among other environmental friendly initiatives.
