11 Imo Assembly bills signed into law in 6 months – Clerk

Clerk of Imo state House of Assembly, Chinelo Emeaghara Tuesday said 11 bills sponsored by the Assembly were signed into law by Governor Emeka Ihedioha.

She said out of the 11, eight of them were passed by the current House, led by Chiji Collins which has not been in session for more than six months, while three were passed in the last House, headed by Chinedu Offor.

She also stated that the eight Bills passed and assented to in six months were gazetted, a clear indication that the current House performed creditably when compared to its counterparts in the country.

Emeghara also stated that votes and proceedings in the House are no longer delayed, unlike what used to be in the past.  She stated that before she became clerk some months ago, there were arrears, but that currently, the materials are prepared immediately after every sitting or plenary and made ready before the next sitting.
