A non- partisan group, Youth Alliance has urged the speaker of the 10th House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, consider the interest of the Nigerian youth in his administration.
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Thursday, spokesperson of the group, Dami Adeyi, said the emergence of Tajudeen would is a renewed hope for Nigerian youth.
He said that the group had earlier canvased support for the speaker and is grateful that it was not in vain.
He said: “In the spirit of renewed hope, we use this medium to convey our hearty congratulatory message to Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, as the speaker of the 10th NASS assembly.
“Few days back, our organization made public our ideology and alignment with Hon Tajudeen Abbas. We reiterate the fact that under his speakership our voice is secured.
“We also re-emphasize the fact that the emergence of our honorable speaker should birth a new dispensation for youth participation, consideration and development. On our part as an organization, we are going to work with necessary agencies and bodies to accelerate a youth friendly renewed hope administration.
“We salute the reps members for being just and fair in their processes and choosing the best man for the job. We are closer to the utopian society we want for Nigeria.
While congratulating the leadership of 10th National assembly , a member of the group, Peter Buraimoh Folajimi, commended the Speaker, describing him as a leader that can trusted because he has done well before, saying ” this is another opportunity for him to do more.”
He also urged the speaker and his deputy, Benjamin Kalu to operate youth inclusive administration because they are integral part of law making in the country .
Speaking further, he stated that giving youth space in the governance would go a long way in implementing bills that would enhance development.
Also speaking, a memer of the exco, Babatunde Damilola said, “We will be championing so many things from our organization in order to move this administration forward as much as we are partners within administration.
“We need to work with the basic things that are more peculiar to the youth, like policy agenda and perspectives.
“I want to also want to thank the TJK group for the Joint effort and the opportunity they gave to us to become one in the movement and thanks to youth Alliance for the joint effort.
“We are very happy for Tajudeen Abbas because our efforts did not run in vain and we are so much fully in support of Honorable Tajudeen Abbas because we know who he is, and our president as well knows his capacity.
“All we are after as youth of this country is for the country to be moving forward, for every other youth out there all over the world to believe in the country Nigeria back.”
