Bauchi purchases exam forms worth N29m


Bauchi state government has purchased Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms worth N29m for secondary schools students.

Speaking before distributing the forms to 5,000 students, Commissioner of Education, Professor Haruna Abdullahi Danwaka, said the forms were meant for students who performed exceptionally in previous mock examinations.

He said students that scored five credits and above including English Language and Mathematics which was the prerequisite, were selected from various schools as beneficiaries. It was the first-ever free forms by the state.

The chairman of the Distribution Committee, Alhaji Nuruddeen Abdullahi, commended Governor Mohammed Abubakar for the initiative which he said would make it easier for students to seek admission into higher education.

Abdullahi, who is also the director of  examinations, ministry of education, called on the beneficiaries and their parents to utilise the opportunity wisely.

ncourage students to perform better.
