Nigerians must resist rigging in 2019 – Secondus

Umuahia

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been warned to conduct free and fair election in 2019 to avoid the wrath of Nigerians, who have vowed to resist rigging of any sort from the ruling party All Progressive Congress (APC).
This warning was handed to the electoral umpire yesterday at the PDP Secretariat in Umuahia by the party national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, when he visited Abia state for inspection of projects executed by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s government.
The PDP also warned the APC against scheming rig 2019 general elections whether through the INEC or any other means warning that Nigerians would resist any attempt to rig the 2019 elections.
Secondus, who maintained that President Muhammad Buhari-led national government should conduct free and fair election and exit power in honourably when defeated in 2019, said INEC, must succumb to the wishes of the people.
Secondus said the PDP was gradually repositioning and is poised to rescue our nation for as bad governance even as he accused the Buhari’s government of inflicting untold hardship to Nigerians since they took over power in 2015.
“Hardship in the country is palpable; the market women knew that the APC has failed this nation. The APC government is killing innocent citizens.
“There is no fuel for our cars, no food for our people, the economy has collapsed. We must hold the APC responsible for herdsmen’s killing. The PDP, however, is on rescue mission”, Secondus said.
He called on Abians to rally round Governor Ikpeazu noting that all PDP governors are intact in the quest to rescue the country from the APC’s misrule, and assured that discussions are ongoing for governors from North Central to join soonest.
Meanwhile, Governor Ikpeazu has assured the national chairman that Abia is safe for PDP and that the state will continue to support his programme of actions which will ultimately take PDP back to Aso rock in 2019.
He added that his government has done a lot that has given them the courage to call them for inspection of projects which he said will have positive impact on the people and state IGR, Abia.
Meanwhile, the state PDP chairman, Sir Johnson Onuigbo, said Aso Rock is waiting for the PDP in 2019 stressing that the mammoth crowds that welcomed the PDP national chairman is an indication that Abia is a PDP state.
