Nasarawa lawmakers angry over PowerGen manager’s failure to appear before assembly

Nasarawa State House of Assembly has given two weeks to the Area Manager PowerGen Interconnected Energy Ltd handling power project in Toto LGA of the state to appear before the House in person.

The lawmakers blasted the representative of the Area Manager and insisted that he must appear in person to enable him explain issues surrounding absent of power supply in Toto LGA.

Speaker of the House, Hon. Danladi Jatau, gave the directive after representative of the Power Gen Interconnected Ltd, Mr. John Ufeoshi, appeared at the floor of the House Tuesday, in Lafia.

The speaker said the invitation extended to the Area Manager was to enable him tell the House on power project in Toto local government area.

The Speaker said that the invitation of the Area Manager was to ensure that the people of Toto LGA and its environs got power supply.

“We discovered that the Area Manager of the PowerGen did not appeared in person but he has sent a representative.”

Earlier, Mr. John Ufeoshi, the representative of the CEO PowerGen Interconnected Energy Ltd said that he was an errand boy of the Area Manager.

He told the lawmakers that he would refer any question he might not be able to answer to the manager.
