Gwagwalada council sacks revenue partners

Gwagwalada area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has disengaged all its technical partners on revenue collection in the area.
The secretary of the Council, Hajiya Ada Alimi, disclosed this at the weekend in Gwagwalada while speaking on the success recorded as a result of the new method adopted by the Council in its revenue drive.
She said since the disengagement of the technical partners, the council had yielded positive result in revenue generation.
Alimi added that the company involved in the verification and revalidation of the council kiosk, corner shops and space’s Lion Property was wrongly put among the disengaged technical partners.
According to her, the Lion Property Company is the only company that is not affected during the disengagement because they pay their money direct into the Council’s account and their percentage paid to them.
She said the Council decided to disengage all the technical partners on revenue generation in Gwagwalada area council because, they are not meeting up with the percentage they were asked to pay to the council.
Alimi said the new development was to enable the Council to take other decisions that were relevant to generate more money to the Council.
In his reaction, the Managing Director of Lion property, Mr. Okechukwu Samuel, said they appreciated the confidence the Council had in them and promised to do more in assisting the Council in its quest to generate more internal revenue.
Blueprint reports that recently the Council administration had announced the disengagement of all its technical partners and replaced them with the Council revenue staff for the collection of revenue in the council area.
